In working with schools and students from across North America, our goal is to build a community of authentic learning where students explore and construct a richer, more complete understanding of course concepts through the exchange of perspective.
WHY IT MATTERS
It may seem self-evident that today’s students must become adept at online learning. Colleges and universities across the country have implemented online learning platforms that offer courses in all discipline areas. However, success in online learning involves developing a skill set that includes a higher level of self-motivation, learning how to navigate virtual communication with teachers and classmates, and developing the academic maturity that is necessary to be in the driver’s seat of one’s own education. Gaining these skills before entering college is critical.
DIFFERENT PROGRAMS FOR DIFFERENT LEARNERS
AVLI offers a variety of course options throughout the year to satisfy the varying needs of students - from dual-credit and Advanced Placement courses and electives in subjects like digital photography, computer science, and veterinary science during the regular school year, to remediation and acceleration programs in the summer.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
A focus on skills. We certainly desire that you master course content, however, you will also gain a better understanding of and practice the skills associated with being a successful, independent learner.
You're not alone. Though you will be working independently throughout much of your AVLI course, a teacher is always there to support and guide.
No surprises. We monitor activity closely and report progress regularly to students, parents, and schools - all in an effort to ensure you have the support you need to succeed.
